These different sets are further narrowed into different types. Patients should consider the following types:

Conventional

This set is custom-made after gums have healed from final tooth extraction.

Immediate

Patients receive their set the same day as teeth are extracted. However, readjustment will later be needed.

Overdenture

These offer great support as they attach to existing healthy teeth or dental implants.

Adapting to Dentures

Patients get accustomed to the feel of dentures after a few days of wearing them. Nonetheless, you will notice a great improvement with speaking clearer and chewing food. Adapting to dentures also include maintenance. Fortunately, dentures are simple to clean. Handle them with care and brush the set twice a day. Also, store them in clean water when not in use. In addition, our Wellesley dentist recommends to gently clean your gums, palate, and tongue twice a day to prevent bad breath and sores. Also, brush any existing teeth as normal.
