
What Is LANAP and LAPIP?
LANAP is an acronym standing for Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure. It is a new method for treating periodontal disease that eliminates bacteria and removes damaged tissues to encourage the development of new and healthy gum tissue. LAPIP is an acronym standing for Laser Assisted Peri-Implantitis protocol. The two treatments are quite similar, but LAPIP is utilized for the treatment of infected gum tissue around dental implants, as opposed to LANAP that treats gums surrounding natural teeth.What causes gum disease?
